Home/Nevada/Las Vegas/Codes in Force

Which codes apply to MEP drawings in Las Vegas?

The City of Las Vegas requires the 2024 codes for projects first submitted on or after January 5, 2026.

City Council approved the 2024 code adoption on July 16, 2025. Las Vegas uses the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, not the IPC and IMC, so plumbing and mechanical sheets must follow UPC and UMC rules. The city's Building & Safety Department reviews permit drawings, while Clark County, Henderson and North Las Vegas each run their own review.

  • Building & residential — 2024 IBC and IRC with local amendments
  • Electrical — 2023 NEC
  • Plumbing & mechanical — 2024 UPC and 2024 UMC
  • Energy — 2024 IECC

Home/Nevada/Las Vegas/PE Stamping

Do Las Vegas, NV MEP drawings need a PE stamp?

It depends on your project and your AHJ — we check before you pay.

Commercial MEP drawings in Las Vegas generally need a Nevada-licensed engineer's seal. Many single-family projects don't. Engineers who seal drawings in Nevada are licensed by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

If your project needs sealed MEP drawings, we confirm during scoping whether a Nevada-licensed engineer can seal your discipline and scope, and we put that in writing in your quote. If we can't arrange the seal for your project, we tell you up front, so you can have your own engineer of record review and seal the set. You never pay for drawings you can't submit.
